Bebe Jo Gleason, 81, passed peacefully on December 29, 2018 surrounded by family, her loving husband of 59 years, Edmund Gleason, and their children and grandchild. Bebe Jo was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on October 3, 1937 to Josephine Elizabeth and Hamp Smead Wilson. She graduated from Magnolia High School in 1955 and received a B.S.Ed from University of Arkansas in 1959.
A dedicated wife and companion, mother and educator, Bebe Jo always put family first and instilled in her children the value and importance of education and the arts.
She is survived by her husband, Edmund Gleason, children, James Gleason, Andrew Gleason, and Jo Beth Gleason Jackson, son-in-law, Russell Jackson II, grandson, Alex Jackson, cousins Barbara Berger, Robert Colquitt, Charles Colquitt, Mary Alice Colquitt, Paul Wilson, Thomas Wilson, and Robert Wilson, and stepsisters, Tommie Price and Johnnie Wilson.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at Laughlin Funeral Home, Huntsville, AL at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019, followed by visitation afterwards.
