James Thomas Woodruff, Jr., age 84, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Visitation and service will be held at Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, AL on January 3, 2019 from 10:00am -12:00pm with the funeral service immediately following visitation. Brother Steve McGuire, Brother Scott Doles, and Brother Trey Haskett will officiate.
James was born June 24, 1934 in Decatur, Alabama to the late James Thomas and Rosa Haddock Woodruff. He was husband to the late Stella Collins Woodruff for 58 years til her passing in 2015.
He is survived by his sons, Jerry Ray Woodruff of Tupelo, MS and Ronnie Woodruff of Texas, daughters, Diana Mae Storment and husband Ed of Iuka, MS, Nancy Faye McGuire and husband Steve of Scottsville, KY, and Barbara Ann Doles and husband Scott of Tupelo, MS. Grandchildren Brian Anglin and wife LeAnne of Iuka, MS, Amanda Bonds and husband Dillon of Tuscumbia, AL., Michael McGuire and wife Toni Lee of Scottsville, KY., Matthew McGuire and wife Jeron of Scottsville, KY., Carrie Ann Barnett and husband Ray of Guntown, MS., Jonathan Doles of Hattiesburg, MS., and 7 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers, William Woodruff and wife Nancy of Rossville, GA., Marvin Woodruff of Sheffield, AL., Joseph Woodruff and wife Judy of Muscle Shoals, AL., Bobby Woodruff of Florence, AL., sisters Dorothy Mixon and husband Melvin of Waco, TX., and Mary Alice Baumgarth of Bayville, NJ.
James was preceded in death by his parents James and Rosa Woodruff, his wife Stella Collins Woodruff, grandson James Ewell McGuire, brothers Jessie Franklin Woodruff, Richard Woodruff, and Robert Woodruff, and sisters Rosa Lou Woodruff and Frances Stevens.
