Mr. Joseph Dural Swinney, 79, of Russellville, Alabama, passed away December 24, 2018 at his residence. Retired from Ford Motor Company, he was a lifetime resident of Franklin County, Alabama, and a member of Blue Springs Freewill Baptist Church of Phil Campbell.

Visitation with family and friends will be today, December 27, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will be Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. with John McCullar and Jordan Benford officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Russellville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Trevor Hodge, Brandon Hodge, Barry Cook, Brian Cook, Justin Swinney, and Clint Frederick.

Mr. Swinney is survived by his wife, Paula Joan Swinney; children, Tony Micheal Swinney (Wendy), of Jackson, Tennessee and Pamela Swinney Murphy (Joe), of Spring Hill, Tennessee; stepchildren, Gerald Cummings (Lorrie), of Phil Campbell, Steven Cummings, of Hackleburg, Dianna Benford Lowery (Michael), of Phil Campbell, Jacky Hodge and Tony Hodge (Sara), all of Russellville; siblings, Charles Swinney (Elisa), of Spruce Pine, Delois Cook (Floyd), of Phil Campbell, Carolyn Robbins (Kermit), of Muscle Shoals, Gary Swinney and Donny Swinney (Sherry), both of Phil Campbell, Glen Swinney (Jane), of Nauvoo, Alabama, and Myra Frederick (Tim), of Hodges; grandchild, Amber Murphy Parris (John); stepgrandchildren, Trey Turner, Chad Turner (Anna), Chad Sheffield, Lesley Sheffield, Bailee Cummings, Mandy Farris (Caley), Jordan Benford (Amber), Anna Benford, Britney Taylor (Joseph), Trevor Hodge, Amber Mahurin (Joe), and Brandon Hodge; stepgreat-grandchildren, Whit, Payton, Parker, Braxton, Ethan, Chloe, and Addison.

Preceding him in death was his first wife and mother of his children, Fay Morgan Swinney; wife, Freida W. Swinney; and parents, Buren and Marcine Mitchell Swinney.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
