The funeral service for Laura Ruth Carr, age 72 of Lineville, will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. David Holcombe and Rev. Robert Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the New Harmony Christian Church Cemetery.
Laura passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at her home. She was a native and life-long resident of Clay County and worked for Wellborn Cabinets for more than 40 years before retiring. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laura was a member of Lineville Church of God.
She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Huston of Lineville; one son, Billy Carr (Dee) of Lineville; two sisters: Jean Archer and Mae McCormick, both of Lineville; daughter-in-law, Beverly Carr of Lineville; eight grandchildren: Karen Mayo, Amy Groff, Stephen Denney, Christina Carr, Cory Carr, Katelyn Carr, Travis Carr and Amber Thatcher; eight great-grandchildren: Kayla Denney, Nicholas Denney, Dillon Groff, Austin Schlegel, Samuel Denney, Tyler Denney, Damien Heard and Alexis Heard.
Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her parents Elbert Grant Archer and Pearlie Irene Robertson Archer; her husband of 44 years, Earl Carr, one son, Roger Carr and two brothers: Leander and Leon “Red” Archer.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Chadwick, Damien Heard, Eric Parris, Wesley Sparks, Phillip Holloway and Stevie Germany.
Karen Caldwell, Jessica Goldman and the Hospice of Clay County family will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
