Margaret Ann Vaughn, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, December 8, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Decatur after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by three children, Michael (Nan), Susan (Phil) and Jonathan (Kim); and five grandchildren, Cindy, Stephanie, John Thomas, Leila Ruth and Weston. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James Maston Vaughn.
Ann was born on May 30, 1933 in Birkenhead, England. She spent part of her childhood in East Africa and moved to Newfoundland, Canada to pursue her nursing career before marrying and moving to the U.S. She raised her family in Montgomery and spent her last years at Brookdale Cedar Springs in Decatur.
Ann was a nurse for 35 years and spent her life caring for others. Thoughtful and compassionate, she was a dear friend to everyone she met.
Services for Ann are Friday, December 14th with visitation at 10 a.m. and funeral at 11 a.m. at Eastwood Presbyterian Church in Montgomery. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Lapine will immediately follow.
