Mark Allan Troyanek, 49, of Huntsville was born to Larry Allan Troyanek and the late Betty Lou (Maynard) Pike on September 25, 1969 in Warren, Michigan. Mark met Jesus face to face on November 21, 2018. Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Larry “Scott” Troyanek; grandparents; and Mother-in-Love, Pat Bakeman.

Mark was happily married to Kathy (Bakeman) Troyanek for more than 22 years, and together they have two wonderful sons, Luke (20) and Ryan (16).

Mark was first and foremost a man of God, who walked with Jesus on a daily basis. He was passionate about loving God and serving others, always starting in his own home.  Mark served with Kairos Prison Ministry, and with the Correctional Ministry with Church of the Highlands, taking the worship service to Decatur Work Release twice a month and leading a weekly Bible study there.

Mark enjoyed building furniture and working in his woodshop, often building pieces for those he loved.  He and his son, Ryan, often helped build handicap ramps for those who were house bound without the assistance of a ramp. Together they also led a small group for Gamers on Saturday nights.

Mark loved deeply and intentionally at home, in the neighborhood, through the ministries in which he was involved, and at work.  Mark earned a master’s degree in cyber security at James Madison University in Virginia. He was a Senior Cyber Security Engineer and Technical Fellow at PeopleTec, Inc, in Huntsville, a company of which he was honored to be a part. He was respected by his colleagues as a man of knowledge, excellence, and integrity.

In addition to his wife and sons, Mark is survived by his father, Larry (Nancy) Troyanek; father-in-love, Bill Bakeman; brother-in-love, Paul Bakeman; and his niece and nephew, Isabella and Ezekiel Bakeman, whom he adored.  He is also survived by step brothers, Eric (Jennifer) Bickel, Doug (April) Bickel, and Chad (Daniela) Bickel; and step sister, Angie (Randy) Rozelle; and many step nieces and nephews.

Mark is also survived by “sister” Cindi Roehm and “boys” Kyle and David Roehm along with his neighbor “Hood” family.

Visitation will be at Laughlin Service Funeral Home Sunday 12/2 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., and at Huntsville First United Methodist Church on Monday 12/3 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. with the celebration of life beginning at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Mark Troyanek Foundation for Ministry and Education.  Checks may be mailed to The Mark Troyanek Foundation, c/o Lynn Farris, 7816 Haven Street, Huntsville, AL 35802.
