Dorothy Jean Harris, 85, died Monday, November 26, 2018 at her residence. She was born December 13, 1932 in Mississippi to Reggie Thomas Davis and Flossie E. Yarber Davis. She was retired from Southern Rural Health Care Consortium. A former City Clerk in Red Bay, she was a founding member of Bear Creek Development Association. She was a member of the Civitan Club, Red Bay Garden Club, P.T.A. and was always active in community affairs. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Red Bay and a lifetime member of the choir.

Services will be Saturday, December 1, 10 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Rev. Bill Harper and Rev. Benny Yarber officiating. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by one brother – Douglas Davis (Rayma), The Villages, FL; one daughter-in-law-Edwina Harris, Red Bay, AL and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.M. Harris, Jr., a son, C.M. “Chuck” Harris III, her parents and a brother, John Paul Davis.

Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
