The funeral service for Gloria M. Bell, age 90 of Lineville, will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Ms. Bell passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Clay County Nursing Home. She was a native of Inglewood, California and as a young child moved to San Diego, CA. Ms. Bell played the piano on the radio at the age of six and learned to ice skate at an early age. After graduating from Hoover High School – Class of 1946 in San Diego, she attended San Diego State University majoring in art and graduating with a masters degree. In 1949 she met and married Lacy Clark who was a member of the U. S. Navy. Her overseas travels as a Navy wife included Japan, China and the Philippine Islands. Ms. Bell enjoyed collecting oriental art, painting and ballroom dancing.
She is survived by three daughters: Valli Clark of San Diego, CA, Vicki Clark of Lineville and Vanett Clark Walters of Huntersville, NC; one son, Scott Clark of Lineville; seven grandchildren: Lacy Sylvia, Kyle Michael Colabella, Dereck Sylvia, William Walters IV, Kira Michella Colabella (Aaron), Ciara Dawn Clark Votel (Mike) and Whitney Elizabeth Walters Rapp (Hunter) and nine great-grandchildren: Daphne, Landon, Lia (Winkie), Vra, Sky, Tevi, Mickey, Grant and Hank.
Ms. Bell was preceded in death by her parents: Oran Moffit Bell and Gertrude Ogden Bell and her former husband, Lacy Clark.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
