Jayla Capri “Jaybug” Sutton, 12, of Town Creek passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, November 25, 2018, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the funeral home with Brother Dan Compton and Brother Bob Simms officiating. Burial will be in Old Liberty Cemetery.
Jayla attended the AIDB’s Helen Keller School in Talladega, Alabama and played baseball for HKS. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved to dance, swing, ride her 4-wheeler, and walk in the sunlight.
Survivors include her mother, Dannielle Jacobs (fiance, Benjamin McGee); father, Colby Sutton (Ashley); siblings, Kagen Sutton, Tyelar Sutton, Colbin Sutton, Racen Sutton, Letty Sutton, Harper Sutton, Tinsley Sutton, Evie Calhoun and Livi Calhoun; grandparents, Kimber Jacobs, Linda Warren, Tina and Kelvin Cook, and Michael Sutton; great-grandmothers, Hazel Mayfield and Doris Quinn; aunts, Angela Ellis, Tia Hollis Hall, Amanda Underwood, and Natasha Yarbrough; uncles, Anthony Poston, Joshua Jacobs, Tye Roberson, and Chris Sutton.
Jayla was preceded in death by her cousin, Bernie Parker IV; and her uncle, David Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Kimber Jacobs, Joshua Jacobs, Chaise Calhoun, Dakota Harville, Jerry Yarbrough, and Jay Terry.
Special thanks are given to the Huntsville Hospital Pediatric Department and to HKS faculty and staff.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Helen Keller School of Talledega.
