Burton Ashley Stockton – Obituary

Burton Ashley Stockton, 82, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at The Meadows, Fulton, MS. She was born August 1, 1936 in Itawamba County, MS to Dolphus “Doc” Ashley and Bernice Sides Ashley. She was a factory worker and a member of Golden Central Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star for over fifty years.

Services will be Friday, November 23, at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Matthew Fancher officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Golden, MS.

Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two children – Donna Stockton Abbott (Danny) Golden, MS and Johnny Stockton (Mary Jo) Saltillo, MS; five grandchildren – Joel Smart, Joshua Smart, Amber Brazil, Meghan Frederick and Hannah Stockton; four great-grandchildren – Bryson Brazil, Trae Brazil, Isabella Holcomb and Olivia Baker; one sister – Nell Anderson and two brothers – Charles Ashley (Sue) and Paul Ashley (Kathy).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bro. John Stockton, two daughters, Pamela Kay Stockton and Lora Jean Stockton, one brother, W.D. Ashley and five sisters, Ruby Hall, Ruble Timmons, Ruth White, Edna Lofton and Juanita Rogers.

Pallbearers will be Joel Smart, Joshua Smart, Robert Timmons, Rodney Timmons, Gary Armstrong and Jeff Ashley.

Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at The Meadows and Halcyon Hospice for their kindness and care.
