John Lester McFarland, 73, of Madison, passed away Monday.
Mr. McFarland was an avid bass fisherman and 18-hole golfer. Also, his hobby was guitar playing for which he was known as Johnny Mac the Louisana Bluesman. He retired from civil service at Redstone Arsenal after serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. McFarland was also a member of the Masons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy McFarland; father, John Lester McFarland, Jr.; mother, Tempie P. McFarland; and son, John Lester McFarland, IV.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta McFarland; brother, Charles McFarland; sister-in-law, Patsy McFarland; son, Stanley Evans; daughter-in-law, Connie Evans; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, November 23rd from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by service at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
