Elaine Reardon Hughes, age 88 of Madison, formerly of Elkmont, AL, went peacefully to heaven on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Hospice Family Care surrounded by family. Mrs. Hughes was born November 15, 1929 in Lauderdale County to William B. Greer and Nora Alvie Trousdale.
Services for Mrs. Hughes are Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Rick Cantrell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Reardon, Carla Grisham (Terry) and Susan Dyson (Chris); step-daughters, Deborah Hughes Weaver and Shearri Hughes Landers; brothers, Harold Greer and Coy Greer (Edna); sister, Edna Greer; grandchildren, Savanah Short, Andrew Short, Will Dyson, Luke Dyson and Jake Dyson; step-grandchildren, William Weaver, Tonia Wigginton, Melissa Landers and Justin Landers; nieces, nephews and numerous other family and friends.
Preceded in death by husbands, William John Reardon and James L. Hughes.
Pallbearers are Andrew Short, Will Dyson, Luke Dyson, Jake Dyson, Chris Dyson and Terry Grisham.
Mrs. Hughes retired in 1994 after a long and successful work history. In retirement she was a business owner and developer in Elkmont, AL.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Family Care, 10000 Serenity Ln SE, Huntsville, AL. The family would like to give a special thanks to all caregivers, sitters, Kindred Home Health, Home Instead and Hospice Family Care.
