Graveside funeral service and interment for Jean J. Short, 80, of Somerville will be today, October 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Burningtree Memorial Gardens with Brother John Maxwell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Short, who died on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born June 10, 1938, in Red Bay. She was the general manager for A&R Construction. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Belle; brother, Buddy Jackson; and son, Archie Lynn Short.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Archie F. Short; two sons, Robert L. Short (Luellen) and Michael Alan Short (Shaunette); niece, Terri McBee (Terry); and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she adored.
