Jackie Wayne Thompson – Obituary

Mr. Jackie Wayne Thompson, 62, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN following an extended illness.  He was born November 8, 1955 in Houston, MS to George H. Thompson and Melissa Murphy Thompson Deaton.  Jackie worked on the bridge crew employed by Mississippi Department of transportation for more than 15 years before his health began to fail.  He enjoyed coon hunting, working in his yard, and crocheting, but most of all he loved his family and playing with his grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Jackie’s life will be at 2 PM, Sunday, October 21, 2018 at West Mooreville Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Winters officiating.  Condolences to the family may be posted at hollandfuneraldirectors.com.  Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

Survivors include his mother, Melissa Deaton of Mooreville; his wife, Angie Thompson of Mooreville; daughter, Heather Adams (Michael), and three stepsons, Bruce McCullough, Bobby McCullough (Tiffany), all of Mooreville, and Billy McCullough (Mallory) of Pontotoc; one brother, Rodney Thompson and sister, Sandra Bishop, both of Mooreville; 3 grandchildren, Haley Adams, Katie Adams and Christopher McCullough.  He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Melinda Sudduth; first wife and mother of Heather, Deborah Thompson.
