F.9.26.18 Jesse Phillips.jpgJesse Lynn Phillips, 61, passed away September 24, 2018, after a period of declining health. He was a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, graduate of Wilson High School, retired from UNA, and a member of the Baptist Church. Jesse was also known as “Slick” because he always had a story to tell and a deal to make. Mr. Phillips was predeceased by his parents, Jess and Era Phillips; daughter, Jessica Hope Phillips and sister, Ima Jean Phillips McFall.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 41 years, Tina Berry Phillips, and their son, Richard “Richie” Oliver Phillips.

He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Acquilla Chambers (Joseph, deceased), Kay Montgomery (Billy), Melba Fortner (Bill, deceased), Jimmy Phillips (Barbara), Nancy Valentine (Billy), Renee Wilson (Tony) and Scotty Phillips (Vicky). Mr. Phillips is also survived by good neighbor and friend, Rebecca Stutts and several nieces and nephews and many other friends and neighbors.

The family greatly appreciates the years of care by the professionals at DaVita Dialysis and of cardiologist Dr. William Heaton and staff.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 27th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence with funeral services immediately following with Pastor Gerald Montgomery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Railroad Cemetery in Wayne County, Tennessee.
