Wilma Jean Powell passed away peacefully on September 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Gossett and Myrtice Wallace; husband Lelton Powell; son, Rickey Powell and daughter, Robbie Williams. Wilma is survived by her son, Steve Powell (Cindy); brothers, Robert and Richard Gossett; sister, Shirley Quick (Junior); son-in-law, Herbert Williams; daughter-in-law, Becky Powell; grandchildren, Lee McGhee, Merry Christie Chesser (Karl), Amy Jones (Jason), Andy Powell (Amanda), Matt Powell (Katherine), and Blake Powell; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and numerous friends. She was a faithful member of Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church and the Adamsville Senior Center. Wilma was a retired seamstress supervisor at Lewis Industries, a loving family advisor and a chocolate pie maker. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express deep appreciation to Alacare Hospice. Services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora, Alabama. Visitation Friday, September 21, 2018 6-8pm. Funeral service Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11am. Burial following at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Adamsville, Alabama.
