Wilma Parker Beasley – Obituary

Mrs. Wilma Parker Beasley, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Villa South Assisted Living Facility in Florence, MS. Mrs. Beasley was born in Saltillo, MS on April 14, 1924, to Roy Lester Parker and Nell Merchant Parker. She married Willis Warren Beasley on June 30, 1946. She was an accomplished seamstress and avid quilter. She was a member of two North Mississippi quilt guilds and enjoyed making quilts for family and friends. She also made numerous prayer quilts and baby quilts for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She also enjoyed collecting teapots and displaying them in her home. She was a faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church and served as President of the Stay Young Group for many years.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 9:00 until 10:45 A.M. at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. A graveside service will follow at 11 A.M. with interment at Lee Memorial Park. Dr. Ray Rooney, Jr. will officiate. Pall bearers will be Rick Beasley, Zachery Beasley, Casey Beasley, Eric Michael Cappel, Matt Long, and Aaron Beard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, James Roy Parker and two sisters, Unita Yvonne Mann and Patsy Parker Stembridge. She is survived by one brother, Walter Glenn “Buck” Parker, three daughters, Jean Beasley Barnes (Paul), Jane Beasley Clark (Tony), Judy Beasley Cappel (Eric), four grandchildren, Brian Barnes, Leslie Cappel Hayford (Matt), Eric Michael Cappel (Heather), and Allison Clark Beard (Aaron), five great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
