Magdalene Phillips Cole, age 89, of Empire, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, September 6, 2018. She was a member of Dilworth Freewill Baptist Church. Magdalene was a great mother and grandmother who
loved all of her family dearly. She was an excellent cook and liked to quilt. Magdalene is preceded in death by her first husband, Horace Phillips; parents, Adley and Ethel Pittman, brothers, Bertis, James, Jimmy, and Virgil “Buddy” Pittman; son-in-laws, Delbert McDaniels, Roy Davenport and Ricky Powell; and granddaughter, Heather Phillips. Magdalene is survived by her husband, Sam Cole; sons, Sam Cole, Jr. (Wanda) of Tennessee, Charles Phillips (Barbara), of Dilworth, David Phillips, of Navoo, Tommy Phillips, of Dilworth, Daryll Cole, of Foley, and Terry Phillips (Renea), of Dilworth; daughters, Irene Davenport, of Empire, Margaret Sheppard, of Missouri, Linda Stacks (Ronald), of Cullman, Becky Powell, of Sumiton, Dona Doss (Steve), of Corner, Carol Penefield (Jim), of Jasper, Teresa Bland (David), of Empire, and Brandy Walker (David); brother Henry Pittman (Lulamae) as well as twenty-eight grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home. Visitaion Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 5:00-7:00. Funeral service at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 9, 2018. Burial following at New Horizon Memorial Cemetery.
