Ralph Edward Hale – Obituary

Ralph Edward Hale of Albertville, Alabama passed away on September 5, 2018, at the age of 88 years, surrounded by his family.

A native of Boaz, Alabama, Ralph graduated from Boaz High School in 1947. While in high school, he was a valued athlete as a member of the 1947 State Tournament team, as well as the Boaz High School football team. Ralph was inducted into the Marshall County Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. His love of sports continued through most of his adult life as an Alabama High School basketball and football referee.

Ralph was the masonry instructor at the Marshall County Technical School from the time it opened in 1967 until his retirement in 1991. He served as a member of First Baptist Church Albertville as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Ralph was also a United States Army, Korean War Veteran.

Ralph will be lovingly remembered as the “best husband with whom I never fussed” by his wife of 64 years, Dora Reaves Hale; as a loving father by his son, Mark (Susan) Hale, Sr. and daughter, Debbie Hale; and as the greatest “Granddaddy” by his grandchildren Jason (Brittany) McCullars, Jennifer Hale, Mark (Mandi) Hale, Jr., Jeremy (Mary Jane) McCullars, Amy (Tim) Bryant, and Carolyn Williamson, as well as his seven great grandchildren.

Ralph E. Hale will be remembered by those who knew him as one who lived to serve. He served his family, his community, and his country with love and consideration.
