Funeral service for Bobby L. Chaney, 66, of Somerville, will be Friday, September 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Aaron Dawson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. He will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Mr. Chaney, who died on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, was born October 11, 1951 in Morgan County to Orville Lee Chaney and Dorothy Bell Chaney. He was the owner of B&N Services doing tractor work and was retired from working 34 years at Copeland Industries. He was a member and a deacon of Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church. Bobby loved his Lord and always tried to do his best for others and was always helping someone else in whatever way he could. He loved his dogs, Isabella and Bella. He loved Alabama football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Carol Chaney.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Ikner Chaney; two sons, Brandon Lee Chaney, Somerville and Nicholas E. Chaney (Angie), Hartselle; one sister, Shelby Holladay (Waymon), Trinity; nephew, Perry Dabbs, Tuscaloosa; and niece, Angie Draper, Trinity.
Pallbearers will be Butch Byers, Waymon Holladay, Nicholas Chaney, Ben Chaney, Johnny Brown and Preston Hall, Jr.
