Tommie Floyd Brown

Mrs. Brown passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Falkville Health Care Center. Survivors include husband of 64 years, Guy Brown; son, Nathan Brown (Deborah) of Huntsville; daughter, Lydia Smith (Bobby) of Hartselle; grandchildren, James Brown (Roxi), Allison Smith, Mary Haney (Nick), Della Hill (Derick) and Jessica Jennings (Matthew); two great-grandchildren, Roy Haney and Mayza Hill; sisters, Georgia Whisenant and Wanda Gail Olsen; and brother, Archie Floyd. Pallbearers were Nathan Brown, Bobby Smith, James Brown, Nick Haney, Barry Pearson and Phil Mulkey. Mrs. Brown was born and raised in Calhoun County and graduated from Cherokee County High School. She then met and married the love of her life, Guy Brown, on September 26, 1953. Mrs. Brown loved her job as the Hartselle High School guidance counselor secretary where she worked for 29 years. She loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Nathan Floyd; sisters, Marjorie Floyd, Jeanette Floyd, Edna Cromer and Jean Floyd; and brothers, John Floyd and Ray Floyd.

A graveside service for Tommie Floyd Brown, 84, of Hartselle was held Monday, September 3, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Piedmont, Alabama, with Mr. Phillip Hines officiating. A memorial service will be held on September 08, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Hartselle Church of Christ with visitation one hour prior to service.
