The funeral service for Sue S. Porter, age 74 of Lineville, will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh (Lineville) Baptist Church with Bro. Kenneth Fuller and Bro. Tim Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Porter passed away August 24, 2018 at the U. A. B. Palliative Care Center. She was a native of Liberty, TX and lived there through her high school years, graduating from Liberty High School. Mrs. Porter was also a former resident of Shreveport, LA and Marietta, GA. She received her nursing degree from Kennesaw State College and worked as a registered nurse at Cobb General Hospital then the Cobb Eye Center until her retirement. Mrs. Porter settled in Lineville where she lived for the last 19 years. She loved gardening, sewing and was an amateur poet who wrote dozens of poems and had a number of them published. Mrs. Porter was a member of Shiloh (Lineville) Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rex Porter of Lineville; one son, Chip Porter (Tiffany) of Douglasville, GA; two sisters: Linda Graham of Mt. Bellview, TX and Jody Seale of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents: Frank Seale and Violet Fuller Seale and two sons: Jon Michael Porter and Kenneth Earl Porter.
Pallbearers will be Edgar Barnett, John Porter, Randy Wilbur, Marcus Porter, Ryan Porter and Payton Porter.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
