James Leon McKinney, Sr., 79, died Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Russellville Hospital, Russellville, Al.. He was born in Alabama to L.B. and Audrey Johnson McKinney. He had worked at Wrangler Manufacturing for more than 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion and served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965 where he was stationed in Germany.
He is survived by 2- Children- Jan Williams and her husband Kevin and Buddy McKinney and his wife Carla. 5- grandchildren- Mary Kate Williams, Jackson Williams, Charlie Williams, Hollie McKinney and Haley McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife – Lois McKinney.
Visitation will be Monday, August 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
Service will be Tuesday, August 21, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Al. with Bro. Ray Kirk, John Williams and Kevin Williams officiating. Burial will be in Burnout Cemetery.
