Jackie Martin, 78, of Tuscumbia, passed from this life to be with her Heavenly Father, August 18, 2018. Her visitation will be Monday, August 20, 2018 at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Srygley Church of Christ with Don McGuyer officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was a native of Colbert County. She was a member of Srygley Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elsie Kirchner; sister, Carolyn Hooper; infant brother, James Albert Kirchner; and son-in-law, Mike Berry.
Jackie was a wonderful Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. She never met a stranger and liked to talk and make new friends. Her passion was gardening and giving garden vegetables and canned goods to friends. She enjoyed singing at church and had a beautiful alto voice.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Dayton Martin; sons, Robert and Daniel Martin; daughter, Dedra Berry; grandchildren, Patrick Berry (Betsy), Eric Berry (Kyleigh), Zachary and Jasmine Martin; one great granddaughter, MiKenlee Berry.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Berry, Eric Berry, Zachary Martin, Bobby Gene Hooper, Bo Hooper, and Keith Jones.
The family expresses special thanks to the Church family and to friends and neighbors who have been so good and kind.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Creek Cemetery Fund.
