Funeral for Mary Kate Mitchell Cooper, 75, of Decatur, will be Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Flint Baptist Church in Decatur, officiated by Reverend Mike Dawson. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mary Kate was born on March 3, 1943, and died Monday, August 6, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Truitt and Katie Mitchell, and a brother, John “Buck” Mitchell. She was a member of Flint Baptist Church, and loved to send cards to the sick and homebound. She loved animals and Elvis.
She is survived by her former husband and lifelong friend, Elton Cooper; one son, Michael Cooper (Diane); one daughter, Mary Alice Espinosa (Steven); two grandsons, John Cagle (Milea) and Andrew Cagle; two granddaughters, Anna Cagle and Katie Cooper.
