Iva Ann “Cookie” Waddle, 82, of Muscle Shoals passed away Friday, August 3, 2018. Visitation will be Monday, August 6, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother George Lee officiating. Burial will be at Maud Cemetery.
Cookie was born on May 30, 1936 in Rockport, TX to Carl and Nora Shaver, the baby of 11 children, where neighbors said that Nora had 11 only children. She met Jimmie in San Antonio, TX in August 1953 where he was stationed while in the service. She was a member of Park Terrace Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Cookie was a loyal wife and loving Christian woman who loved her family dearly.
Preceding her in death are her son, Carl “Woody” Waddle; parents; and 9 siblings.
Cookie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years and one day, Jimmie Waddle; daughters, Patsy Malone (Ross) and Vicky Massey; sister, Thelma Moore; sister-in-law, Judy Devaney (Hoyt); 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Maud Cemetery Fund, 3040 Maud Road, Cherokee, AL 35616 or a charity of choice.
