Bernard C. “Sonny” Roberts, 82, formerly of Hartselle, went to his heavenly home on Monday, July 16, 2018. He was born in the Hartselle area to Eloitte W. and Ella Mae Johnson Roberts on August 19, 1935.
He graduated from Hartselle, MCHS in 1953. The past 30 years he had lived in St. Cloud, Florida and the Vancouver, Washington area. He was in the wholesale produce business for many years before retiring.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 50 years, Kathleen Fortenberry Roberts; two grandsons, Jantzen Frazier and Ricky Turrentine.
He is survived by two sons, Murrell Frazier (Debbie) of Hartselle, Craig Roberts (Laura) of Vancouver, Washington; two daughters, Debbie Richards (Ray) of Hayden, Alabama, Sonya Williams (Bryon) of Vancouver, Washington; a sister, Bonnie Teichmiller (Derwin) of Hartselle and a brother, James W. Roberts (Diane) of Huntsville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be at a later date.
