Stanley “Stan” Stein – Obituary

 Mr. Stanley “Stan” Stein, 82, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice. He was born July 14, 1935 in Sigourney, Iowa to Henry Joseph Stein and Florence Elizabeth Amlong Stein. Stan was a 1954 graduate of Sigourney High School in Sigourney, Iowa. He retired from Kent’s Swine Farms in 1997.

Stan was an airplane mechanic with SAC Command of the U.S. Air Force and was also the Tupelo Aquatic Club Diving coach from 1974-1978. He enjoyed woodworking and making wood projects for his family and friends. In his early years he loved sail boating. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

A Visitation for family and friends will be today (Thursday, June 28, 2018 ) from 4 PM to 6 PM in the Tupelo Room at Holland Funeral Directors. There will be no formal public service. Holland Funeral Directors Tupelo Chapel is honored to be serving the family.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Judy Stein; children, Tonya Collums (Dwayne), Lisa Lawson (Greg), Eric Stein (Cheryl) and Blake Stein (Pam), all of Tupelo; grandchildren, Carmen Collums (Chad Decanter), Christopher Colums (Haley), Benton Sanders (Brittni), Alex Sanders (Becka),Max Lawson and Val Lawson, Brandon Stein (Traci), Jordan Stein, Jacob Stein, Andrew Stein (Ashley), Zachary Stein (Stephani); great-grandchildren, Amelia Collums, Wilson Collums, Annalegih Sanders, Gianna Sanders, Miles Sanders, Cailin Stein, Luke Stein and Blakely Stein; sisters, Geneva Winn (Rip), Patricia Reynolds (James), Marjorie Jones (Earl), sister-in-law, Joan Blankenship, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Roberta Jennings and Jennette Graff; and four brothers, Clayborne Stein, Gaylord Stein, Kenneth Stein and Junior Stein.
