Mr. George Oscar Burford, Sr., age 77, of Somerville the Union Hill Community in Morgan County passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Burford was born on April 19, 1941 to Bernie Burford & Dorothy Moore in Alton, Illinois. He moved to the Somerville area in 2001. He enjoys singing in the choir, woodworking making birdhouse & gardening.
He is a member of Weatherly Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Josie Manus Burford; sons & daughter-in-law, John L. Burford, Dale E. Burford, Mark Anthony I & Deby Burford; daughter & son-in-law, Josie Ann L. & Dean Burford-Atwood; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters & brother-in-law, Sharon Sue Burford Tripp, Donna Jeanine & Glen Martin. Preceded in death by his parents; son, George O. Burford, Jr.; brother, Gerald Wayne Burford, David Allen Burford, Charles Michael Burford, Sr.
Funeral service will be 2:00 a.m. Monday June 18, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Pastor Nick Martinez, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday June 18, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
