Garry Wayne Sullivan, 60, died unexpectedly at his residence in Chickasaw County on Sunday, June 10, 2018. . He was born April 3, l958 in Chickasaw County, MS to Charles Marion “Doodle” Sullivan and Betty Jo Ogg Sullivan. Garry Wayne graduated from Okolona High School in l976 and worked in the furniture industry as an assemblyman most of his working life. He spent many years with Lane Furniture and his last work was with Seminole Manufacturing. Garry enjoyed life, attacked every day with gusto and greatly enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing, hunting and riding horses. In the mold of his dad, he was a cut up and jovial personality. He loved his many friends and his family especially his only son, Dixon, for whom he was a doting father. Garry Wayne struggled many years with diabetes. He is now at peace.
A service celeb rating his life will be held at 6 PM Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Okolona chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Randy Lewman officiating. Private burial will be in Boone’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM-service time Thursday only at Holland-Okolona Chapel, which is honored to be serving their friends.
Survivors include his son, Dixon Sullivan of Okolona and his mother, Jackie Young; his mother, Betty Jo Ogg Sullivan of Okolona and Northport, Alabama, his brother, Jerry Clyde Sullivan and his wife, Terrie of Northport, Ala.; a nephew, Richard Jeffrey Sullivan and his large extended Ogg and Sullivan families across the country
