Benton Alexander “Moon” Mullins, 96, of Florence, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31st from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Brother Henry Melton officiating.

He was retired with the City of Florence Police Department as an investigator, was a member of Alabama Peace Officers Association and Teamster’s Local No. 402 and was a U.S Army veteran having served two terms in World War II. He was also a member of Central Baptist Church of Florence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Audie Mullins and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Lila Pate Mullins; children, Deborah Mullins Johnston, Brett Mullins, April Mullins Killian and Barbara Walters; grandchildren, Kaleb, Kadee and Sunshine Killian, and Chance Odem; great-grandson, Peyton Flanagan.
