Shelby Jane Clemons Higdon – Obituary

Funeral service for Shelby Jane Clemons Higdon age 73 of Priceville, will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 2:00p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with Brother Harold Fanning, Brother Clyde Ledlow and Brother Caleb Smith officiating with burial in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Her body will be at the Church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday evening at the funeral home.

 

Mrs. Higdon, who died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at her home, was born on January 5, 1945 in Morgan County to Tommy Washington Clemons and Martha Novalee Riley Clemons. She was retired from the Alabama Department of Public Health, loved quilting and attending craft shows. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and had been an active and faithful member of the Southern Baptist Church her whole life. She loved teaching and working with children’s ministries in the local church. She and Cleo had been faithful members of Mission teams working locally, across the United States and in Jamaica. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister; Patsy Gilliand.

 

She is survived by her husband; Clyde Cleo Higdon, 1 son; Chris Higdon (Christine) of Frisco, TX., 2 daughters; Rhonda Higdon of Hartselle and Pam Roberts (Jim) of Decatur, 2 sisters; Roma Hartman of Hartselle and Mary Sue Callahan of Danville and by 7 Grandchildren.

 

Cody Breeding, Andrew Johns, Garrett Roberts, Gary Taylor, Steve Jeffries and Brett Graves will serve as pallbearers
