L.E. “Buddy” Pettus – Obituary

The graveside service for L.E. “Buddy” Pettus, age 91 of Lineville, will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lineville City Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Willis officiating.

Mr. Pettus passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Clay County Nursing Home. An Anniston native, Mr. Pettus lived most of his life in Clay County. He worked for Griffin’s Jewelers in Talladega for over 55 years as a watch repairman. Mr. Pettus enjoyed collecting and repairing clocks as well as reading his Bible and western novels. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist church in Lineville.

Mr. Pettus is survived by two nieces: Pattye P. Sudduth (Ronny) and Shirley Edmondson (Jim); two nephews: Jimmy Pettus and Bob Wentz plus a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl Pettus and Minnie Lee Ray Pettus; three sisters: Anne Wentz, Louise Pettus and Bobby Jean Pettus and one brother, James Pettus.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. Send online condolences at benefieldfuneralhome.com
