Opal L. Brown, 71, died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. She was born October 26, 1946 in Mississippi and worked in furniture manufacturing for twenty-five years. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Old Path Baptist Church.
Services will be Sunday, April 22, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Keith Thomas and Bro. Billy Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Walker Baptist Church Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three children – Rebecca “Beck” Tucker, Rita Lynch and husband, Ray Lynch, all of Belmont, MS and Tony Jackson and special friend, Amy Washington, Golden, MS; step-son – Jackie Jackson; a daughter fostered into the family – Suzanne Holmes; ten grandchildren – LaSha Higginbottom and husband, Jeffrey Higginbottom, C.J. Lynch and wife, Abbi Lynch, Shantel Lynch, Makayla Lynch, Hunter Jackson, Laken Jackson, Jaden Jackson, Jayce Jackson, Brayden Jackson, Makeely Jackson and Suzanne’s children – Summer and Aaron; step-granddaughter – Jacquline Jackson Hayes; three great-grandchildren – Stella Higginbottom, Millie Higginbottom and Kylie-Jo Lynch; two step-great-grandchildren – Tierra and Sawyer; brothers and sisters – Olene Moore, Peggy Ford, Roy Brown and Raymond Brown; special friend– Tony Williams and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Joe and Dossie Brown; two brothers, Billy Joe and Dawell Wayne Brown and a son-in-law, Louis Tucker.
Pallbearers will be Terry Stanley, Reggie Roberts, John Burns, Alvin Brown, Garry Ivey, Donald Ray Frost, C.J. Lynch, Hunter Jackson, Jaden Jackson and Jeffrey Higginbottom.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 21, 5-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
