The funeral service for Mark A. Grogan, age 55 of Ashland, will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Dwain Bailey and Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mr. Grogan passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Clay County Hospital. He was born in Paducah, Kentucky, but had lived most of his life in Clay County. Mr. Grogan had worked in the maintenance field and also as a millwright and was currently employed in the maintenance department with Hocking International Laboratories. He was a very talented repairman who could fix anything and was a modern day “McGyver”.
Mr. Grogan is survived by his wife, Sharon Grogan of Ashland; his son, Joshua Grogan of Tuscaloosa; two step-sons: Bradley Wayne Bearden (Kayla) of Sylacauga and Jonathan Scott Bearden of Santa Monica, CA; his mother, Gail Grogan of Lineville; three sisters: Susan Butler (Brian), Terri Sims and Jeana Grogan, all of Lineville; one brother, Buster Grogan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one granddaughter, Cailyn Elise Bearden; one step-sister, Stephanie Aldee of Kansas; two step-brothers: Brent and Bryan Hunnicutt, and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Grogan.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Butler, Jason Upchurch, Carl Sandel, Tyler Hunnicutt, Michael Grier and Casey Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 1, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
