Service for Mr. Robert Rueshell Hawkins, 53, of Newnan, Georgia will be held at 11 a.m. (cst) Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Peterson and Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Opelika with interment in Union Grove Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hawkins passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Newnan, Georgia. Prior to his passing, he attended Saint Smyrna Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia. In 1982, he graduated from Colbert County High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. He obtained an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering from RETS Electronics Institute in Birmingham. Until 2017, he was employed with KIA Motors Manufacturing Georgia.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Michelle Jones Hawkins of Newnan, Georgia; three sons, Eric, Michael and Rashaun; one daughter, Ravyn, all of Newnan, Georgia; his mother, Annie Robinson Hawkins of Opelika; five siblings, Penelope Hawkins, Crystal (Lydell) Luckey, Whitney Hawkins, Trevis Hawkins and Michael Hawkins; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
