Mrs. Peggy Joyce Flanagan age 87, a resident of Deatsville, AL passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home with Brandon Bowman officiating. The interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Cullman, AL. Mrs. Flanagan was born on May 7, 1930 in Decatur , AL and was a member of Millbrook Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker. She was active in the PTA when her children were in school. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union. She was a chairman of many fund raising organizations through out her life. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank Woodson & Flora Arthur Shafer, her husband Noah Haywood Flanagan, sister Corrine Smith and brother Kenneth Shafer. She is survived by her sons James (Rhonda) Flanagan, Frank Flanagan and Charles Flanagan, brother Frank Woodson (Jo) Shafer, Jr.
