John W. ‘Bill’ Greenhaw, 88, a lifelong resident of Huntsville, passed away on Tuesday. He worked for Morton Thiokol for over thirty years.  Bill was dearly loved by both his family and neighbors.  He had a passion for helping others, and spent his retired years doing yardwork, and anything else that he saw that was needed to help others, including strangers.  He lived a simple life, but his compassionate, loving, and kind heart made him extraordinary.

Mr. Greenhaw was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Suttles Greenhaw, two daughters, Pamela Jackson, and Vanessa Campbell. Survivors include daughters, Brenda Fincher, and husband, Gary, and Londa Bunn and husband, Jimmy; sister, Shirley Upton; grandchildren, James Bunn, Lori Ramsey, Leah Brannon, Natalie Passavant, Michael Dunphy, Chris Fincher, Tony Jansen, Lindsey Jansen Rogers, and Beth Ann Jansen; a great niece and nephew whom he loved as his grandchildren, Jessica West Echols and Jonathan West; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that he loved and cherished.

A very special thank you goes to his son-in-law, Gary Fincher for caring for Mr. Greenhaw for the past few years (he loved Gary as his own son); his niece, Renee Greenhaw West for the special care he received in the last weeks of his life; and to his grand-daughter, Leah Brannon.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will follow in the chapel with the Rev. Mike McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
