Mary Phillips, a native of Maryville, TN was born on October 13, 1920 to John E. and Bessie James. She was a resident of Huntsville for the past 13 years. Mary retired from the position of manager at Clarke & Jones Music store in Oak Ridge, TN. She spent much of her retirement providing care for her brother, John James Jr. and her mother, Bessie James, as well as her sister Catherine Woody. She had a great passion for cooking and devotion to family and will be dearly missed.
Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn Ann Phillips, her sisters, Byrdie Millsapps, Nina Green, Virginia Lively, and Catherine Woody, and her brother, John James Jr. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews in Huntsville, AL and Maryville, TN.
A graveside service will be at 1 o’clock on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Grandview Cemetery, Maryville, TN.
