Margaret Richardson Durfield, 96, of Vestavia passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Margaret was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John T. Richardson and Robert R. Durfield; beloved daughter, Martha Ann Richards; grandchildren, Chris Horton and infant Catherine Horton; brothers, John Phillip Jones and Robert B. Jones, Jr.; her parents, Robert B. Jones, Sr. and Maggie Carlin Jones; and stepmother, Jessie T. Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce R. Horton (John); son, John Richardson, Jr. (Susan); stepson, Robert R. Durfield, III (Faye); sister, Christa Mae Williams; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; special niece, Debrah Jones Fisher (Brad); and special nephew, Robert Jones (Shirley).
Her graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Elmwood Cemetery with Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
