Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” W. Kimbrell, 64, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Becky was born in Decatur, a daughter of Melvin (Marilyn) Wimberley, Decatur, and the late Sara Speegle Sharp (Ferrel). She was a Pipefitter for over 35 years, and a member of the Local Union 150. Becky loved her grandchildren and watching them play sports. Animals, Alabama football and NASCAR were among some of the top joys of life.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Kimbrell; son, Chad (Candace) Kimbrell of Aiken, South Carolina; three daughters, Donnell Loney of Madison, Vickie (Tracy) Brown of Warrenville, South Carolina, Monica (Paul) Davis of Hazel Green; seven grandchildren, Lexi, Halie, Kary, Trey, Travis, Katie, Jon Paul, Laura Beth; greatgranddaughter, Harley; two sisters, Jennie (Kenneth) Taylor of Decatur and Debbie (Nick) Iddins of Somerville; a host of many nieces and nephews; and granddogs, Ziggy, Lucy and Sprocket.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 in the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Fred Andrea and Rogers Kimbrell officiating.
