Funeral service for Marilyn Strecker Darwin, 73, will be Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Fanning officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Darwin died on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 25, 1944, in Kansas to Jacob H. Strecker and Anna K. Dumler Strecker. She was a Financial Aid Advisor for the Calhoun Community College and also was the only Certifying Official Financial Counselor for Veterans for 25 years . She was a member of Delta Mu Delta (Alpha IOTA Chapter) at Athens State College and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Decatur for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Floyd Strecker and Leon Strecker and one sister: Dorothy Pells.
