Thomas C. Laster, 89, joined his heavenly father on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018. Visitation will be Friday, March 2, 2018, from 1-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Brother Thomas Thornton will officiate. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. He was a member of Hook Street Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, daddy, and papa. He was a Golden glove boxer, carpenter, draftsman, and retired from Southern Railway. Our daddy was adored by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a kind, caring, man who always put others above himself. His favorite saying was, “If you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Laster, and brothers, Hollis Laster and Marcie Laster.

Survivors are his loving wife of 68 years, Linda Laster, of Tuscumbia, Alabama; daughters, Vicki Hovater (Harold), of Muscle Shoals, Bridget Wright (Larry), of Tuscumbia, and Shane Howard (Raymond), of Muscle Shoals; sister, Jewel Elkins and Mary Hardin; grandchildren, Lauren Borquez, Zach Aycock (Dana), and Jon-Thomas Willett; great-grandchildren, Thomas Kal-EL Borquez and Christopher Logan Borquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The entire family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pat Johnson for her tireless love and devotion to our precious daddy and mama.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to ALS Foundation Association at P.O. Box 37022 Boone, IA 50037-0022.
