Grace Virginia Green moved to her heavenly home on February 15, 2018. In addition to the great joy of seeing Jesus, she was reunited with her husband, of 52 years, Ray Green, her beloved son, Wayne Green, her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Bertie Pitts; her nine brothers and sisters: Everett Graben, Gladys Cochran, Loree Strickland, Lucille Wooten, Robert Graben, Roy Graben, Hugh Faye Graden, Bob Graben, and Jerrell Graben; and a host of other relatives and friends. Grace Green was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, teacher, pastor’s wife, and missionary to Taiwan. She grew up in Hamilton, Alabama and, as an adult, she lived in several areas throughout Alabama and Tennessee. In 2014, she moved from Huntsville, Alabama to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee to be near her children.
Mrs. Green was a member of Flint River Baptist and was known for her warm smile, kindness, humbleness, hospitality, food, generosity, wit, determination, and humor. She was an avid reader, puzzle solver (any kind), and domino player.
Survivors include her son, Olan (Dianne) Green; daughter Kay (Joe) Brown; daughter-in-law and love, Ava Green; cherished grandchildren: Josh (Hillary) Green, David (Jana) Green, Elijah (Corri) Brown, Kitzie (Ben) Shepard, Candice (Grant) Allen, Levi Brown, Michael (Stacy) Wooten, Diana Wooten, Jonathan (Kaitlin) Wooten; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind other loved relatives, friends, and Maristone residents and employees.
All arrangements will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home, Huntsville, Alabama. Visitation will be Sunday, February 18th from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Monday, February 19th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with the service following at 11:00 with nephew Keith Gann officiating. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice facility of your choice.
