Betty Oliver Marbut Brittain, 79, of Arab, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Shepherds Cove Hospice.
Mrs. Brittain was born September 3, 1938 in Dekalb County to A.G. Oliver and Gwendolyn Baker Oliver. She graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 1956. She worked for Dr. John Watkins as an office manager until her retirement. She was married to Royce Wayne Brittain for 43 years. Mrs. Brittain enjoyed traveling, working in her flowers and garden. She loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of Union Chapel Untied Methodist Church.
Mrs. Brittain is survived by her husband: Royce W. Brittain; her children and in-laws: Kenneth Ray Marbut, James Keith Marbut and Diane; Sharon Kay Biggs and John Jr.; her step children: Eddie Edward Brittain, Timothy Brittain and Amy Holmes; her grandchildren: Matthew Shipp and Joanna, Nathan Shipp and Bonnie, John H. Biggs III, Alexander Ray Marbut and Joshua Casey Marbut; great grandchildren: Tasha Watwood, Colin Shipp, Xander Shipp, A.J. Shipp, Braeden Shipp and Caleb Culbert and seven step grandchildren; her brother and sister: Wayne Oliver and Donna Weathington. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter: Celena Kay Shipp.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 17, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel prior to the service.
