Huey Dwayne Wells, 83, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Belmont, MS to William Huey and Minnie Credille Wells. He was a member of Fairview Holy Church of Christ but was attending Old Path Missionary Baptist Church with his family. He was an ordained minister of the Holy Churches of Christ and had served as a minister for 47 years. He was retired from Sparko Dollar Stores.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 29, at 11 a.m. at Old Path Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Brand, Bro. James Segars and Bro. Waymon Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Old Path Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his son, Kim Wells and wife Karon; three grandchildren-Kalim Wells and wife Chelsea, Kollin Wells and wife Tracy and Kaynon Thorn and husband Andy; three great-grandchildren-Bryce Wells, Loralee Thorn and Griffin Wells and one brother-Nolan Wells and wife Dorothy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha M. Wells; his parents; two brothers-Willie Wells and Buford Wells; four sisters-Leona Payne, Lela Ray Lawson, Annie May Slayton and Hazel Spees.
Pallbearers will be Kalim Wells, Kollin Wells, Andy Thorn, Joel Wells, Stanley Page and Tommy Brooks.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 28, beginning at 6 p.m. and continuing until service time Monday at Old Path Missionary Baptist Church.
