Hessie Lena Humphres, 89, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at her residence. She was born October 28, 1928 in Franklin County, AL and worked in the poultry industry raising chickens.
Services will be Friday, January 26, 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Wayne Logan and Bro. J.C. Blackburn officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by one son – Wade Humphres (Linda) Red Bay, AL; son-in-law – J.C. Blackburn, Red Bay, AL; four grandchildren – Lisa Turbyfill (Billy), Karen Deaton (Tim), Stephanie Williams (Brett) and Jonathan Humphres (Haley) and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Humphres, a daughter, Barbara Blackburn, her parents, Houston Mitchell and Elzie Holland Mitchell and three sisters, Corene Burks, Exie Holcomb and Dessie Robinson.
Pallbearers will be Billy Turbyfill, Tim Deaton, Brett Williams, Jordan Turbyfill, Bunt Burks and Jerry Burks.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
