Vera Mozell Fountain, 75 of Cherokee passed away Saturday, January 20, 2017. Visitation was Sunday, January 21st from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will be Monday, January 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Shane Swinney officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery.
Mrs. Fountain was a native of Cherokee and was a member of Barton First Baptist Church. “Vera was our biggest fan.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and Giffie Cosby; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; 2 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Brandon Green and Rusty Fountain, Jr; and 1 beautiful great-grandson, Brylan Green.
Vera is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Bobby Fountain; sons, Rusty Fountain (Doris) and Joy Glenn Fountain; daughters, Connie Ledlow and Billie Jo Borden; brothers, Winford Corsbie, Thurman Cosby, and Ray Cosby; sisters, Nora Keller, Mary Ruth Linder, Lorene Taylor, and Emma Goodman; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Shoals, especially, April and Nancy.
