Charles Roland “Mac” McWhorter passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, in his 94th year on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, in Boise, Idaho.

Mr. McWhorter was born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, July 19, 1924. He grew up in Lawrence County, Alabama and lived most of his life in Decatur, Alabama. He was a wounded combat veteran of World War II. He was a founding member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Decatur.

Mr. McWhorter is survived by his wife, Donna, of Boise, Idaho; son, Alan McWhorter (Doris), of Toronto, Ontario; daughters, Sherry McWhorter, of Newport, Oregon, Ladelle McWhorter (Carol Anderson), of Richmond, Virginia, Ann Petterson McWhorter (Bruce Petterson), of West Linn, Oregon; grandchildren, Andrew McWhorter (Aniska Ali) and Kate McWhorter, of Toronto, Matthew McWhorter (Erin Kovacic), of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Albert, John and Ryan McWhorter, of Seattle, Washington, and Lia Malihi, of Atlanta, Georgia; and great-granddaughter, Zaiya McWhorter, of Toronto.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, (Joyce) and his parents, Charles C. and Alma (Stockton) McWhorter; brother, Lester McWhorter; and sister, Rosalie Clark.
