Joan Marie Blaxton Age 79 of Athens passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Blaxton was born December 29, 1938 in Limestone County, AL to Earl Frank Haynes and Gladys Hudson Haynes.
Services will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 4:00 p.m., at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church with Dusty McLemore and Pat Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Blaxton was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, and was a member of the Athens Lions Club.
Survived by her husband, Jerold Blaxton, two daughters, Angela Rouse and husband, William and Deana Coats and husband, Chris; four grandchildren, Jessica Sims, Christopher Rouse, Kristen Coats and Kaylee Coats; several cousins, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Rouse, Larry Caddy, Henry Lindsay and Chris Coats. Honorary pallbearers will be Lindsay Lane Church Sunday School Class.
